There are wide selections of green products that include recycled products, home and kitchen items, and paper. In addition to being fairly traded, all of these products are made using recycled materials, making them great sustainable gifts.

A great time to visit the beautiful & historic town of Washington, Wilkes County, Georgia is during their annual Christmas Tour of Homes. This year it will be on Friday, Dec. 11th & Saturday, Dec. 12th, 2009 and features about 20 homes that range from antebellum mansions to Victorian cottages to Craftman style bungalows. There is even a restored Feed mill on tour! Truly a house style for everyone!

Washington boasts the largest collection of antebellum homes (houses built before the Civil War) in the state of Georgia. According to local legend, Eleanor Roosevelt, upon visiting this charming small town, said that Washington could be the Southern version of Williamsburg."

Visitors also like to refer to the picturesque Town Square as the set of Mayberry... Gone with the Wind... a Norman Rockwell painting... a scene from a Courier & Ives postcard...the list goes on and on!

You guys decide for yourselves! You can visit www.historyofwilkes.org to learn more about the Christmas Tour and www.washingtonwilkes.org for more information on Washington.
